First Boss: Akalath Travan

Take Note

For people who are familiar with Kalioth (Second Boss in Antaroth’s Abyys), this boss won’t have too many new things. There’ll be a few slight differences but for the most part his attack patterns are the same.
One of the main differences will be regarding the color mechanic, if you’re familiar with Ruinuous Manor first boss you’ll be able to manage this one. We’ll go into more detail about this attack in Key Mechanics.

Left, Right, Dash n Slash

Boss first attacks with left sword, then right sword and then slashes forward attacking the tank 2 more times in quick succession.
All of these attacks can be blocked and iframed.

Type: Physical

Right, Left, Left, Stab, Wave

Boss attacks with his right sword first, followed by 2 attacks with his left sword, then a stab with both weapons and then it casts a wave on the tank.

Type: Physical

Backslash

Boss crosses his swords and slashes behind him, being up close to the boss will dodge the attack. Being further behind will hit you.
All of these attacks can be blocked and iframed.

Type: Physical

Begone

The boss puts both hands together to charge some kind of magical orb, then slams this down dealing damage to everyone.
This attack can not be blocked, iframed or ignored through invulnerability.

Healers should use Kaia’s/Thrall of Protection.

Type: Magical

Big Circle Stun

The boss lifts up both his swords getting ready to slam them down.
This attack can not be blocked but can be iframed.

Type: Physical

Circles, Spin to Win

The boss spawns exploding circles on everyone that need to be iframed or blocked, failure to do so will get you stunned. Followed by the boss spinning quickly dealing a lot of hits. This is slightly different from Kalioth since Kalioth would do a outer donut first.

Type: Physical

Right, Right, Spin, Wave, Backslash

The boss starts with 3 right handed attacks and then turns around and does a wave in front of him followed by Backslash as mentioned in Normal Attacks.
These attacks can be blocked and iframed.

Type: Physical

Right, Left, Double Slash

The boss starts with a right handed attack, followed by a left handed attack, then followed by 1 Slash attack on each side.
Slashes can not be blocked or iframed, you can however use invulnerability such as Warp Barrier or Tenacity.

Getting hit by the Slash puts a bleed debuff that deals 10% of your max HP per second.

Type:
Attacks: Physical
Waves: Neither

4 Slashes

The boss will do 4 slashes back to back, these can either all go on the tank or can target random people after each slash. You can tell ahead of time if you are going to get targeted by the next slash, ideally you’d go in front of the boss during the previous slash so that the boss doesn’t rotate.

These attacks can not be blocked or iframed, you can however use invulnerability such as Warp Barrier or Tenacity.

Getting hit by this puts a bleed debuff that deals 10% of your max HP per second.

Type: Neither

Colored Debuff

When you first start the boss fight the boss will do a mechanic which gives you a debuff, either blue or red. The text message on the screen will be “Bear my curse!”

He can also do an attack that doesn’t deal damage but may change the color of your debuff.

When this message shows up another time he will do an In/Out mechanic and you have to either go in or out depending on your debuff. The idea is to get hit by the opposite color, so if your debuff is red: You get hit by the blue attack.
To know whether the inner circle is going to be Blue you need to look at the aura and weapons of the boss when it says “Bear my curse!”, much like in Antaroth’s Abyss. The main difference being that red won’t always be inner and blue won’t always be outer.

If his weapon/aura turns red, then the inner area will be red and outer area will be blue
If his weapon/aura turns blue, then the inner area will be blue and outer area will be red

Hint: If you want to somewhat be able to predict when the mechanic is going to happen, it’s on a more or less 50 second cooldown. So you can use your 60 second long debuff to somewhat keep track of when the mechanic is going to happen. People who are familiar with Ruinuous Manor will most likely be familiar with this concept.

Final boss: Akalath Kashir

Take Note

This is Argog from Red Refuge but on even more crack, it’s the same boss with a lot of the same attacks and mechanics but there’s a few even more crazy attacks.

Occasionally the boss will put a cleansable debuff on everyone, Sharp Etching, this debuff will start off as a 1% max HP damage per 5 secons and will stack up 5 times. At 5 stacks it will apply by Wild Vigor which gives 10 Power and deals 10% of max hp per 5 seconds, stacking up to 3 times.

So fully stacked you take 35% max HP damage per 5 seconds and gain 30 Power.

Double Attack

Boss does 2 simple attacks in quick succession.
These attacks can all be blocked and iframed

Type: Physical

Right, Left, Spin

Boss does 2 simple attacks in quick succession following by a spin
These attacks can all be blocked and iframed.
Type: Physical

Barrage, Spin

Boss does a barrage of attacks on the tank. Followed by a spin attack.

All of these attacks are blockable, however the claw attack has to be Perfect Blocked.

Type: Physical

Left, Right, Claw, Hold

Boss does 2 attacks and then crosses both claws to hit the tank another time, then holds his claws still in front of him to do another attack that must be iframed
All of htese attacks are blockable, except for the last one.

These attacks can all be blocked

Type: Physical

The boss stabs his claws into the ground and raises the rocks in front of him. This attack can NOT be iframed, popori malfunctioned in video.

Type: Physical

Aims for your back

This is identical to the Hunt mechanic in Red Refuge, he will teleport to each player. The air on your character indicates you should iframe. Make sure not to group with your party members or else you’ll have to iframe multiple times.

Type: Physical

Jumpback, Triple Rocks

One of the entirely new boss attacks, the boss jumps backwards and does Front Rock (Special Attacks) follow by the same Rock attack done by 2 clones spawning to his side. These aim behind the boss.

Type: Physical

Yellow claws, Slam

The claws of the boss start glowing followed by him jumping into the air and slamming the ground resulting in a huge AoE. You have to facetank this or use Divine Protection. Healers make sure to use Kaia’s or Thrall of Protection.

Type: Physical

One Comment

  1. should be noted that the backslash is a oneshot dealing around 1,5m damage and its range is inconsistent with the animation
“Begone” sometimes happens without an announcement and often should be outranged unless the boss is enraged
Stomp on kashir knocks you down
During triple rock/clone mech, his hitbox never disappears
yellow claw slam can be outranged, but you need to be wary of a secondary shockwave
