The card system is being added to TERA as of Patch 86: Aerial Island. This system is comparable to the EP/Talents system as it allows your characters to receive additional stats outside of upgrading your gear. Like EP, you can start using these cards at a low level, but obviously you can’t obtain them all until a higher level. Card collection is server wide, and you can save up to 3 presets. There are PvE and PvP cards. Some are tradeable. To access your cards, find the helmet icon labeled “My Character” and click on collection.

How to Obtain

The cards can be obtained in various ways, but all ways to obtain a card will always be listed on the card. There are 5 types of cards: Character, monster, location (world), gathering, and fishing. Character cards are mostly general stat boosts like physical and magical amplifiers/resistance. These are usually obtained from quests. Monster cards provide the greatest stat boost, but only against a specific type of monster. There are 10 types of monsters, such as mechs or dragons. These are usually obtained by killing the monster on the image. Gathering and fishing cards are obtained by fishing or gathering in the respective area. These give low stat boosts like HP/MP/movement speed. World cards are usually obtained in dungeons and mostly provide PvP or crit power stats.

Collection and Upgrading

To obtain a card, you need card fragments. After you get 20 fragments for a card, you obtain the card. There are two rarities of cards: Common (blue/grey cards) and Uncommon (green cards). Each card has both rarities available. Getting uncommon or common card fragments is based off of luck in most circumstances, or they have different requirements. You also have a collection level. This increases based off of how many cards you have. Each card fragment gives 2-4 experience. The levels are:

  • Level 1: 0 Experience
  • Level 2: 2500 Experience
  • Level 3: 7500 Experience
  • Level 4: 15000 Experience

It is currently only possible to reach level 3.5 with all cards unlocked. Upon reaching some experience levels, you unlock rewards.

Increasing your collection level gives a benefit regarding the amount of cards you can equip. The max cost in the list below refers to the sum of the random number on each card.

  • Level 1: 1 card of the same type; 2 cards equipable; max cost 9
  • Level 2: 1 card of the same type; 3 cards equipable; max cost 12
  • Level 3: 1 card of the same type; 4 cards equipable; max cost 15

You can also gain a collection effect if you equip certain cards. You need all of the listed cards for the effect. If all the cards are uncommon, you get an added bonus. The collection effect bonuses are small boosts.
